The problem
Paper degrees are easy to forge and slow to verify. Employers and institutions wait on manual confirmation from a registrar’s office, and a forged certificate can pass unnoticed for years. NED University wanted credentials that could not be altered and that anyone could check without asking permission.
What we built
A blockchain degree verification platform on Ethereum, designed and built end to end. Each graduate receives a student wallet holding an immutable, permanent credential. Certificate issuance is recorded on-chain, and a public verification flow lets any employer or institution confirm a degree instantly and independently.
The outcome
In a live pilot, NED University issued 100+ verifiable degrees on blockchain, making it the first university in Pakistan to verify degrees this way. The system was inaugurated in a ceremony on the university campus with Higher Education Commission representation. Dawn, Pakistan’s newspaper of record, covered the project twice: a 2018 profile of the founders, and the April 2019 report on the university’s launch.
